Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about tracking trips, choosing a plan, and using your mileage records.

How does FirstMileage track my trips?

Select your vehicle and destination, allow location access, and start the trip. FirstMileage uses GPS to record the route and distance while tracking is running. Stop the trip when you arrive, then review its category, purpose, and notes.

Is FirstMileage free, and is there a free trial?

The Free plan includes 20 trips per month for one driver and one vehicle. Driver and Business offer a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. The ongoing Free plan and the limited trial of paid features are separate options.

How much do Driver and Business cost?

All prices are in USD. Driver costs $4.99 per month, or $47.88 billed once per year (equivalent to $3.99 per month). Business costs $6.99 per driver per month, or $71.88 per driver billed once per year (equivalent to $5.99 per driver per month). Annual billing saves $12 per driver compared with 12 monthly payments. Any applicable taxes are shown at checkout. See the pricing page for full plan details.

Can I use FirstMileage with a team?

The Business plan is designed for companies managing drivers, vehicles, and team mileage records. There is no minimum driver count. Admins and accountants who only manage or view records are free; anyone who also tracks trips needs a paid driver seat.

Which plans include PDF and CSV exports?

PDF and CSV exports are included in Driver and Business. Free includes basic reports for its allowance of 20 trips per month. Review your records before sharing them with an employer or accountant.

Can I track distances in miles and kilometers?

Yes. FirstMileage supports both miles and kilometers, so you can review your trip distances in the unit you use.

Which country guides are available?

FirstMileage provides mileage and vehicle-expense guides for the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and France. These guides explain country-specific topics; they are separate from the features included in each subscription plan.

Does FirstMileage guarantee tax compliance?

No. FirstMileage helps organize trip dates, distances, routes, categories, and purposes. It does not guarantee acceptance by a tax authority or determine your final tax deduction. Country guides provide general information, not personalized tax advice.
